Building Communities of Upstanders

Training Presenters to Lead Safe, Skilled Conversations in Schools

myFace Wonder Academy is myFace’s national presenter training initiative created to expand the reach of The myFace Wonder Project while protecting its integrity.

Conversations about difference shape how children see themselves and how they treat others. Those conversations must be led with care.

Through an immersive Two-Day Training, structured Certification Process, and ongoing standards, Wonder Academy prepares presenters to deliver developmentally appropriate, emotionally safe school assemblies that foster empathy, inclusion, and belonging.

Why We Built the Wonder Academy

The myFace Wonder Project has demonstrated meaningful impact in schools. Students engage. Teachers gain tools. Conversations shift. But impact must scale responsibly.
myFace Wonder Academy ensures that as The myFace Wonder Project grows nationally, it does so with consistency, safeguards, and clarity.

Short-Term Purpose

  • Standardize training across presenters
  • Ensure consistent, mission-aligned messaging
  • Strengthen storytelling and facilitation skills
  • Protect students and presenters through clear safeguards

Long-Term Vision

  •  Build a national network of Certified Presenters
  • Normalize visible difference in school communities
  • Reduce stigma and bullying
  • Foster empathy that extends beyond the classroom

What Makes This Training Different

myFace Wonder Academy is not a public speaking workshop.

It is a structured, values-driven training grounded in child development, trauma-informed facilitation, and ethical storytelling.

Core elements include:

  • Developmental psychology across K–8
  • Trauma-informed communication practices
  • Ethical storytelling standards
  • Clear student-safety boundaries
  • Ongoing evaluation and coaching

Every component exists to ensure that conversations about difference through The myFace Wonder Project are led responsibly and safely.

Inside the Two-Day Training

This training emphasizes preparation, judgment, and professionalism, not performance.
The Two-Day Training includes five core modules:

3. Public Speaking & Facilitation Skills

Managing Q&A, redirecting comments respectfully, maintaining structure, and reading audience dynamics.

4. Understanding Development in Your Audience

How K–2, 3–5, and 6–8 students process difference, empathy, and social belonging.

5. Professional Standards & Code of Conduct

Boundaries, safeguarding, mandated reporting, and ethical responsibility.
