Meet Rena Rosen

myFace’s first-ever Senior Program Officer in CHICAGO

“I wish we’d had myFace’s support when I was growing up. Now I get to bring it to Chicago families.”

Hi, my name is Rena Rosen, myFace’s new Senior Program Officer in Chicago!

Whether you’re from Lincolnshire, the South Side or anywhere in the region, I’m here to help you and your family find the resources, support and community you need.

As someone with a rare Craniofacial Syndrome, I know that it can often feel isolating. I was born and raised in Chicago, a patient at Children’s Memorial (now Lurie’s). My family and I traveled this lonely road of craniofacial difference with no map or guide, and it wasn’t easy. I wish we’d had myFace’s support when I was growing up!

I’m thrilled to have this opportunity to support you at every step of your journey, right here in my hometown. Please reach out to receive info about our local support groups, resources and community events like bowling, pizza night, and maybe even a boat trip down the Chicago River! I can’t wait to welcome you into this incredible community.

Cubs Game at Wrigley Field

On June 17th myFace took 10 people to the Cubs vs Brewers baseball game at Wrigley Field. Among the attendees were four individuals with craniofacial differences, two parents, an Anaplastologist, Dental Assistant, and Nurse from UI craniofacial Center of Chicago.

Lincoln Park Zoo Partnership

myFace and Lurie Children’s Hospital partnered for their first joint community engagement event at Lincoln Park Zoo. Thanks to the Inclusion and Accessibility team, several families from Lurie’s Cleft and Craniofacial Team enjoyed an afternoon of connection and fun.

You Are Beautiful Installation

Nearly 50 guests gathered at the You Are Beautiful (YAB) store in Chicago to celebrate a meaningful collaboration. The event marked the start of Cleft and Craniofacial Awareness Month and featured more than 60 wooden plaques etched with “myFace is Beautiful.”

JCC Chicago Art Collaboration

Artist, educator, and myFace community member Celina Leroy visited Chicago to collaborate with Rena Rosen and Kevin Pease, Director of the Growing Hope Project at JCC Chicago. This marked the start of a year-long collaboration bringing art and lessons to JCC and Sunrise Day Camp Chicago Programs.
