Choosing Kindness. Building Empathy. Creating Upstanders.

According to the National Bullying Prevention Center, 1 in 5 children in the U.S. report being bullied at school. Children who experience bullying are at greater risk for anxiety, depression, sleep difficulties, lower academic achievement, and social isolation.
In 2015, myFace created The myFace Wonder Project, inspired by the bestselling novel Wonder by R.J. Palacio, to address this issue through education, empathy, and action.
The myFace Wonder Project teaches students about facial differences, promotes empathy and respectful language, encourages students to become Upstanders, and empowers children to pledge to Choose Kind.

How It Works
Through in-person and virtual school assemblies, trained myFace presenters share real-life stories of facial differences, teach empathy and inclusion, provide educators with lesson plans and activity resources, and guide students through the Upstander Pledge.
Students don’t just learn about kindness — they commit to it.
“Dear Ms. Zuckerberg, you were so inspiring and wonderful! The part in your talk about bullying really touched me seeing as in the past I have been bullied, physically and otherwise. I also would like to proudly inform you that my class and I have already sworn a ‘choose kind’ pledge in the hopes to stick with it. I will always stand up!”

Meet Our Speakers
The Wonder Project’s school assembly is the perfect way to introduce students to themes of inclusion, anti-bullying, and choosing kindness. myFace speakers engage students by sharing their personal stories of growing up with a craniofacial difference.

Dina Zuckerberg, Director of Family Programs, is the heartbeat of myFace. Through sharing her story of growing up with a cleft lip, hearing loss, and no vision in her left eye, she has inspired upwards of 100,000 students since the El myFace Wonder Project (Un proyecto basada el en libro “Wonder”) started in 2016. When speaking at schools, Dina tells her story and recounts personal experiences of being bullied and excluded, and how she turned those challenges into teachable moments.

Naomi Levinshtein is a Program Assistant at myFace and a professional makeup artist who uses her personal journey to inspire others. Born with a bilateral cleft lip and palate, Naomi understands firsthand the power of confidence and self-acceptance. She is passionate about teaching healthy self-esteem and empowering individuals to embrace the beauty within themselves. Through her work and advocacy, Naomi encourages others to show up authentically and celebrate what makes them unique.

Rena Rosen is a Senior Program Officer in Chicago! Whether you’re from Lincolnshire, the South Side or anywhere in the region, she’s here to help you and your family find the resources, support and community you need. As someone with a rare Craniofacial Syndrome, she knows that it can often feel isolating. Her family traveled the lonely road of craniofacial difference with no map or guide, and it wasn’t easy. She wishes they had myFace’s support when they were growing up!
Interested in bringing Wonder to your school?
Sponsor the Wonder Project
Fund Student Impact. Strengthen National Reach.
When you sponsor the Wonder Project, you help build communities of Upstanders — students who choose empathy, inclusion, and respect. Your support makes it possible for myFace to expand into schools nationwide while maintaining the safety, integrity, and quality that define the program.
Direct Impact: Sponsor Student Programming
Bring the Wonder Project directly into classrooms. Your sponsorship can fund an in-person or virtual school assembly, support programming for a Title 1 school, expand access across a district or region, and provide educators with classroom resources and follow-up materials.
Each presentation empowers students to learn respectful language, understand facial differences, interrupt bullying behaviors, and take the Upstander Pledge.
This is immediate, visible, student-centered impact.
Lasting Impact: Sponsor Program Expansion
Sustainable national growth requires strong infrastructure. Through Wonder Academy, myFace trains and certifies presenters to deliver safe, developmentally appropriate, and emotionally responsible school assemblies.
Your support can train and certify new Wonder Academy presenters, provide ongoing coaching and evaluation, maintain safeguarding systems and professional standards, and expand into underserved communities responsibly.
This is not just funding a presentation — it is investing in the systems that ensure long-term quality and scale.

Why Your Investment Matters
With expanded support, we can reach more than 20,000 students annually, increase access in Title 1 schools, build a national network of certified presenters, and create sustained cultural change in school communities.
When you fund Wonder, you help create classrooms where difference is normalized, empathy is practiced, and bullying is interrupted early.
