myFace salutes Dina Zuckerberg, myFace’s Director of Family Programs, who received the <\/span>Family Services Leadership Award<\/span><\/i> from the American Cleft-Palate Craniofacial Association (ACPA) as part of their 2021 Virtual Annual Meeting. Dina has often said, \u201cI bring my life experience of growing up with a craniofacial difference to the programs I help implement for the individuals and families myFace serves.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

That\u2019s true, but it takes much more than life experience to be a leader, and Dina has always stepped up to the plate. She oversees myFace\u2019s peer-led virtual support groups for adolescents, adults and parents of children with craniofacial differences, making sure they have a safe place to come to talk and receive guidance and support. She also spearheads our <\/span>El myFace Wonder Project (Un proyecto basada el en libro \u201cWonder\u201d)<\/span><\/i>, an anti-bullying campaign educating students in schools across the country about celebrating uniqueness and always choosing kind.<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition to this award, the more than 1000 worldwide participants of this year\u2019s conference got to see Dina step into the spotlight as she, along with myFace Center for Craniofacial Care at NYU Langone Health\u2019s Aileen Blitz, PhD and Patricia Chibbaro, RN, MS, CPNP, presented an on-demand educational video session teaching parents how to advocate for their school aged children.<\/span><\/p>\n
