For more than a decade, I\u2019ve been involved with myFace as a donor, board member, board president, and now as Executive Director. I\u2019ve had the privilege of meeting people of all ages who face rare and challenging conditions with grace and resilience, hearing their moving stories firsthand. My goal is to further myFace\u2019s extraordinary work, ensuring that individuals with facial differences have the support they need to shine and thrive. I\u2019m committed to expanding access to our programs and events, supporting more families, and building meaningful partnerships with hospitals nationwide. Together with the dedicated myFace team, we\u2019re designing innovative awareness campaigns, enhancing infrastructure, and strengthening outreach to build a more inclusive future for our community.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

With more than a decade of experience at two international nonprofit organizations, I know the tremendous impact that quality comprehensive care and support can have on the life of individuals and their families. myFace does, too, and I am proud to be part of an organization with such a strong and focused mission. As the Director of Campaign Development , I am committed to helping myFace lead, plan and implement development initiatives to increase our exposure and raise the funds we need so that we can continue to educate the public on our work and provide the individuals and families we serve with access to the resources, support and care they need – and deserve. myFace\u2019s mission reflects my passion and my passion reflects the mission. As Director of Family Programs, I bring my life experience of growing up with a craniofacial difference to the programs I help implement for the individuals and families we serve. Whether it’s through our emotional support groups, online educational series, family networking events or public awareness initiatives, my goal is to advocate for the craniofacial community and make sure their voices are heard. I want everyone with a facial difference to know myFace is here for them, and that they are not alone. \nSenior Program Officer \u2013 Outreach and Hospital Liaison<\/h3>\n

For 34 years, I had the incredible honor of being the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner at the myFace Center for Craniofacial Care at NYU Langone Health. Upon my retirement in 2022, I remained connected to the myFace community as a volunteer and was thrilled to be invited to serve as a consultant in 2024 and am now so happy to be one of their Senior Program Directors. As a nurse practitioner, my focus has always been on caring for my patients comprehensively – trying to assist them not only through their medical and surgical journeys, but to support them, their parents, families and friends in receiving the psychosocial services needed to help them navigate life with a facial difference. I am so grateful for the opportunity to continue to be even a small part of their journeys.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

It\u2019s through both this approach and my bilingualism in English and Spanish that has me especially excited to connect with and support Spanish-speaking families at myFace. Rena Rosen<\/span><\/h3>\n

Senior Program Officer – Chicago<\/h3>\n

Rena Rosen, based in Chicago, Illinois, brings over 35 years of lived experience as someone born with a craniofacial syndrome. A passionate advocate for inclusion and equality, Rena has spent over a decade boldly sharing her story to drive change. She worked as a preschool educator for 16 years and served as the first Inclusion Coordinator for JCC Chicago, where she fostered belonging and addressed community access needs. Co-author of\u00a0The Courage to Be Kind<\/i>, Rena has spoken widely on her experiences and created the \u201cKnit for a Unique Fit\u201d initiative, connecting people with limb differences to crafters of custom gloves. In 2023, she received the MyFace Courage Award and now works to expand MyFace\u2019s programming in Chicago, offering care and support to those in need.<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

I am an advocate for underserved communities, a relationship builder and an operations manager. I am thrilled to join myFace and support their mission driven work of transforming lives of children and adults living with craniofacial differences. Anderson \u201cAndy\u201d Pleasants was born with Goldenhar syndrome and a love for storytelling. From creating videos that showcase the artistry of American Sign Language as a form of personal expression to advocating for Deaf and disability communities, his work is rooted in making people feel seen, heard, and understood.<\/p>\n

Andy has been part of the myFace community for over a decade and has personally benefited from the support it provided to him and his family throughout his medical journey. Through that experience, he found not only guidance, but a sense of belonging among others who understand what it means to grow up with a craniofacial difference.<\/p>\n

As Social Media Specialist and Outreach Manager at myFace, Andy brings that perspective to his work, leading social media strategy, content creation, and outreach efforts. He is driven to give back by helping others see the community he once needed but didn\u2019t know existed, while amplifying stories, fostering connection, and making sure no one feels alone in their journey.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>
